There is a great story in USA Today reporting on the various hotel chains that are getting into the wine business. Among the movers and shakers:

  • Partnering with Chateau Ste. Michelle, Sheraton started a wine club targeted to their Starwood Preferred Guests
  • JW Marriott is doing the same, partnering with Treasury Wine Estates (no, that’s not how they’re dumping their old wine)
  • Sofitel is launching a French wine program
  • Hyatt created their own private label, with help from Folio Wine Partners
  • Affinia is following in Kimpton’s footsteps, offering free wine to their guests five nights a week
